When Your Life Calling Knocks

I began my reporting journey back in 2016 as a young kid because the presidential election both excited and confused me. The way the same events were covered so differently across networks didn’t make sense, and the growing division in our country felt unhealthy. That’s when I realized my calling: to go out and hear directly from everyday Americans, while encouraging others to be open to ideas that might be different than their own…or even possibly that our own opinions might be wrong.

Over the next several years, my dad, our dog, and I traveled over 100,000 miles across dozens of states. I interviewed people at rallies, protests, conferences, small towns, and major events. As a kid, people often opened up to me in ways they might not to adults. I asked politicians how young Americans could help heal our nation. The goal was always the same — to promote understanding through civil disagreement.

Disagreement doesn’t have to mean hate or rejection. It can lead to better ideas, growth, and tolerance. That belief has stayed with me.

Now, a few years later, I’ve graduated and chosen a new way to serve our country. I completed Navy boot camp and am training with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). Just like my reporting, this path is about stepping up, facing challenges, and protecting what makes America special. The same spirit that drove me to travel the country, now drives me to serve in uniform.

This site remains dedicated to sharing the experiences, interviews, and lessons I’ve gathered — so others can see, hear, and feel the diversity of perspectives that make America unique. Whether through my older reporting, new reflections, or updates from this next chapter. I hope it encourages all of us to listen more, believe the best in people, and remember that we’re stronger when we engage honestly across divides.
