Kamala Harris just sat down for her first sit down interview with Fox News of this election. Harris spoke with interviewer Bret Baier about numerous issues that voters are concerned about. Primarily on the border, but also on the economy and Iran. Many were looking forward to hearing Harris’s policies. However, what viewers heard was filibustering with little substance.
The issue first discussed was the border. An issue that has been important to voters yet seems to be ignored and exacerbated by the Biden/Harris administration. Harris acknowledged that the border is problematic and work needs to be done. Which doesn’t really make sense. Why hasn’t she helped to fix it over the past 4 years as Vice President? Whenever Bret Baier pressed Harris on this fact, Harris defaulted to either blaming Trump or stating that as President she would follow federal law. This continued throughout the interview.
Another part of the interview I found interesting was she stated that her Presidency would not be a continuation of the Biden administration. When she stated this, a clip was then played of stating that she could think of anything she would have done differently than President Biden over the past four years. This seems contradictory. If she wouldn’t have done anything different, it seems Biden and Harris are the same politically. For undecided voters this interview gave very little information other than Trump is bad and Kamala Harris will follow federal law. Harris staff cut the interview short, which in my opinion was a bad look for Harris. She would have been better off finishing the interview. While Kamala Harris could have done worse, she left so many questions unanswered for voters.
